Slide Makeover of the Month: April 2014

You are here: Home / Gallery / Slide Makeover of the Month: April 2014

Companies love showing logos on their slides to show off their famous clients. But add bullet points to the mix and you’re suddenly faced with TMI.

Before

NASCAR logo slide

The client referred to this as the NASCAR slide, in that it is plastered with company logos. That’s what’s good about this slide, because if he had listed all of the companies that use VMware it would have been a slog to get through it. The logos do a much better job of communicating who VMware’s customers are.

The problem is that the logos combined with all of those bullet points make a slide that suffers from TMI. What’s important? What should we look at first?

After

To give this slide more punch, I reworked the title and created a “scrolling titles” effect to highlight the information included in the bullet points. Check out the video, which features step-by-step instructions on how to create that effect.
